Tim Blum brings a dynamic understanding of association management, trade and membership organizations to World Class Boards.
Tim’s varied duties include working with the World Class Boards training program, Leading Associations’ consulting efforts and The Sales Association’s webinar and educational series. Tim is the founder and Executive Director of Energy Voice Institute. EVI promotes energy careers through Energy Career Days. These events brings together 2000 high school students to participate in hands on activities that shows students what a career in energy is really like.
Tim also served as interim executive director to Housing Colorado, revamping membership, marketing, office processes and financial management, all while keeping operations and lobbying efforts in full effect. Prior to that, Tim served as the Executive Director for both RMEL and the RMEL Foundation, an organization he served for 12 years. The engineering based trade association of utilities and their service companies and suppliers was led by Tim and a board of 20 industry executives and provided an educational forum for 350 utilities of all types of ownership, their manufacturers, suppliers and consultants. Tim doubled membership and tripled participation in programming while Executive Director.
Tim earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Denison University in Granville, OH. He also holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). He is a past Board member of the Colorado Society of Association Executives (CSAE), a member of the American Society of Association Executives and BoardSource. A recipient of the CSAE’s Outstanding New Professional Award in 2002, Tim holds a certificate of NonProfit Board Governance from BoardSource.
